Tour de Cure – The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute

It is a sad fact that almost everyone we know has either been impacted directly, or knows someone close who has been impacted by cancer.

Cancer is a tough enemy and even worse when it is one of our loved ones who is facing this terrible disease.

EquityVision is supporting Tour de Cure in its fundraising for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute with team member Brett Mansfield participating in a three day bike ride through the Victorian countryside in November, starting at Traralgon and making their way back to Melbourne via Phillip Island.

Since 2007, Tour de Cure has been funding incredible work in cancer research, support and prevention. An amazing 647 cancer projects have been funded, leading to 75 major cancer research breakthroughs. That’s 75 significant medical advancements, that increased our understanding of the causes, the treatment or the diagnosis of cancer.

A fundraising page has been established and EquityVision is making a donation for every new client referral received.

Introducing Damien Hauser

With our business continuing to grow through strong referrals from our wonderful clients, we needed another broker on the team and welcomed Damien (Damo) Hauser to EquityVision in July.

Damo was a perfect choice for the role, already in the industry with a background as a broker with an accounting firm, he was accountable for the full lending advice experience.

Since commencing with EquityVision, Damo has slotted straight into the business, assisting Michele and Alisha with researching loan options and negotiating with lenders.

He brings a lot of energy to the office and is very active outside of business hours training and competing in Taekwondo which he started when just six years old.
Achieving his black belt at age 12, Damo is currently a 6th Dan Black Belt.

Damo has represented Australia, competing in international competitions in Belgium, Korea, Las Vegas and New Zealand, plus a world poomsae championship in Taipei.
He is also a Taekwondo trainer,  passing on his knowledge and experience to students aged from 6 – 60.

You can find Damien on Linkedin, he can be reached at the office on 03 8372 0775 or mobile 0458 441 824.

Be Careful – Don’t fall for a SCAM

You may think you’re not an ideal target of a scam, but scammers aim for a wide audience, dedicating their skills, time and technology to accessing any funds they can find

Many people believe they won’t fall victim to a scam, but this works on the assumption that scams and scammers are always easy to spot.
This unfortunately is not the case, scammers can, and do, use the same communication and marketing channels as any other business to target individuals, including SMS, email, phone calls and social media.

Just as businesses continually have new tools at their fingertips to effectively reach individuals, so do scammers.

At EquityVision, we have a number of security safeguards in place for collecting, sharing and storing valuable information. This includes the technology we work with and our practices.

Lender partner Macquarie Bank has provided an informative article which details what to look for and how to protect yourself, click the button below to read.
